Weaving Futures
Our cycle begins with what would otherwise be discarded. Silk threads and cocoons, industrial waste, gain new life in the hands of Atelier CHAMES BIO.
From our vision and commitment to sustainable production, social impact, and ethics, we develop textile works, furniture, lighting, and wearable objects, born from an appreciation for manual labor and ancestral knowledge, prioritizing the circularity of natural materials.
Made from primary silk thread, feather yarn, fabric scraps, and cocoons that would otherwise be discarded by the textile industry, all our pieces and creations reflect our commitment to sustainability, slow fashion , and the reuse and appreciation of other raw materials.
Sun Necklace of Lebanon
Recognized as a work of art by the School of Fine Arts of Rio de Janeiro/RJ-BR, in November 2022.
Inspired by ancestral teachings, we develop original, handcrafted pieces that blend sustainability and exclusivity, and also symbolize the diverse cultural richness we bring to the concepts, harmonious, delicate, and primitive elements.
Our Origins
Born in Zahle, in the mountains of Lebanon, Chames Aboud Damous is the woman who inspires the Chames Bio atelier. At the end of the 19th century, she left her country in search of new opportunities and, in 1904, founded Casa Otomana, the origin of the group that would become one of the most important in Maranhão in the following decades.
Her journey of determination and entrepreneurial vision inspires the work of the atelier, which values inclusion, sustainability, and diversity in every creation.
